These are industrial, portable desiccant dehumidifiers which can be used as a stand-alone unit or can be used in conjunction with other Portable Air rental equipment, such as generators, heaters or cooling equipment. A desiccant dehumidifier has a moisture absorbing wheel inside the unit. The wheel is made of silica gel – which is the desiccant (drying) element. Air enters the unit through an opening and travels through the silica gel filled wheel. When the air reaches the other side of the wheel it is dry and pushed out of the unit by a high static blower. It is perhaps the most effective method available of controlling humidity and/or stopping moisture. Sometimes a desiccant dehumidifier is used to control moisture during a painting/coating project. Other times it is used to lower humidity on a construction site and in other instances, the desiccant dehumidifier dries out buildings following a water damage.
